OUR ROUTE FOR THE DAY
Start: 09:00 | Duration: 8 hours
Seixal
Serra de Agua
VIEWS, VIEWS, VIEWS AND A JOURNEY INTO MADEIRA'S PAST.
Hey, fellow explorers! Join us on an journey through Madeira's northern highlights. Whether you're an adventure seeker or simply curious to uncover hidden gems, this tour is designed just for you. We'll kick things off by picking you up at either at Funchal city center, Lido or Caniço. Let's go north!
Serra da Agua: coffee time
Our first stop is in (1) Serra de Agua, where we'll have a coffee meetup to explain the day's plan. You can choose between a bica or a garoto. Take a big sip, because we have a packed itinerary!
São Vicente: Miradouro Pico da Cova
Next we will visit the famous White Chapel on top of of a small mountain in the middle of the lush green valley of (2) São Vicente. We have to climb some stairs, but it's worth it: an amazing view is awaiting us!
Seixal: black beach swim and waterfalls
Seixal's black sand beach (3) has made it to some fame on Instagram. Cameras at the ready, because the landscape with beach, sea and waterfalls is just fantastic! We will stay for a while so you can dive in, swim and enjoy the beautiful scenario.
For our lunch brak afterwards (not included in the package), we are heading to the center of São Vicente. Those who are in the mood for exploration can continue to see this charming town on their own.
Views and history: São Jorge
On our way to Santana we will stop for another beautiful viewpoint - Miradouro das Cabanas. We can have a sneak peak of what we will discover later: the view over Arco de São Jorge (4) and beyond. Afterwards we explore a charming watermill, the last working one in Madeira.
Dive into history at São Jorge as we explore the Ruinas de São Jorge, the "door to the sea". Keep your camera ready, because the last one is a quite enchanting motive.

Santana House and Traditions
Our trip will take us to (5) Santana, where we will visit the traditional and authentic Santana house. A must-see on the island!

Rocha do Navio Viewpoint: hidden jewel
Prepare to be amazed at (6) Rocha do Navio viewpoint, where a hidden gem of natural beauty will leave you awe-struck.

Guindaste Viewpoint: old and new world
We continue our journey through the beautiful Faial Valley - pure nature! The highlight: the (7) Guindaste viewpoint, offering a unique perspective of the island's rugged beauty - from both, the skywalk and the old miradouro. So get your (smartphone) camera ready to take some breathtaking island pictures.

Poncha time!
Our tour is not over yet! We wouldn't be Heartbeat Madeira if we didn't finish our day with a (real) poncha in an authentic local poncha bar. Try the traditional drink of the islands and toast to our hike.
Cheers to new memories and friends
The day draws to a close and we make our way back to Funchal. But the fun doesn't have to end here for you! We're happy to recommend our favorite poncha bars for a perfect end to your tour.

Please be aware that the weather in Madeira is unpredictable, it has a sub tropical climate and can change unexpectedly during the day. That means sometimes paths or places are closed by the local authorities or it might be too dangerous to do the originally planned trip. In these cases we are doing our best to inform you in time and offer you alternatives, but sometimes we need to be flexible on the tour day itself. What will never be missed is good mood and the beauty of the island - no matter what weather, we are sure you will enjoy this paradise!
